Things are starting to pick up at Long Tail HQ in anticipation of the July 11th publication date.
First, the book tour: Although I've been giving talks more or less constantly for the past few months, the official tour kicks off in London on the week of July 3rd. Then it's New York on the 10th and 11th, then San Francisco and other Silicon Valley destinations (including at all the big Long Tail firms, from Google, Yahoo! and eBay to Real and Netflix) from the 12th to the 25th. Then to Seattle for Amazon, Microsoft, Real (north) and Starbucks, among others.
Most of my speaking these days is at companies, and they tend to be for employees only. But there's usually a public event each week, too. Here are some upcoming, pre-tour, ones:
- June 11, Las Vegas: eBay Developers Conference
- June 16, Philadelphia: Alternative Distribution Alliance music festival
- June 26th, New Orleans: American Library Association annual meeting
I'll update this with tour dates later this month.
And while I'm at it, here's some press from the past week:
- A great two-page article on the "Long Tail's Tribe" in Time.
- A quite good piece in the New York Times on Netflix's Long Tail, which somehow manages to avoid using the term.
- Mediapost discovers the phenomena, a bit too late for a book proposal.

What's the location for the London event? I'd like to try and get to it.

To all who have asked about non-US dates, stay tuned. I've got a full schedule for the rest of the year, and the above was just June and July.

I haven't yet announced the exact places and times. Give me a day or two...I hope there will be a few public events along with the company talks.
